Shirley started her first Cat House in 1999, with an idea to have "some nice kitty stuff". Started on a shoe string, she soon filled the store with some of the finest theme decor accessories available. She did keep one thing in mind, though. Everything in her store would be a tribute to the Domestic Feline. No lions, tigers, bears, or ferrits. Not that they are not okay, and not that she doesn't like them. They just had no place in her store.

Barely one year later, Shirley moved to her 2nd store in Old Town Spring. She looked all over town, and decided that Old Town Spring was the only place in Houston that could provide the pleasant and congenial atmosphere she wanted for her customers and the store kitties. She stocks decor items, collecitbles, fine art and, of course, a complete line of goodies for Kitty!

We started the website in 2000, also. After 2 1/2 years of cranky shopping carts and other website problems, she decided to put up a new site, complete with a new online shopping system. One of the key features of the site is quick access to her merchandise, and a relatively easy and fast system to update, allowing her to timely place the constant stream of new items flowing through her store

April, 2005. Shirley moved to a new, spacious store on the way into Old Town Spring. The new quarters provide almost twice as much display room, and features easy access plus plenty of free parking. The new store will allow Shirley to continue to add more and better products, as well as expand into some of your favorite dog items and collectibles. Of course, Shirley still packs the best Catnip, and now has added custom Kitty Shirts!

Shirley also shows her merchandise (and kitties) at 6 to 8 regional cat shows in the south east Texas area every year. Give her a call to see when she will be in your area. You won't want to miss her merchandise, or her cats!

Shirley has years of experience caring for animals. She raised and showed top-winning Great Danes, and has bred dogs and cats for over 30 years.
